Carol C huang, the director of Pacific Institute of Music, has been enjoying a dynamic performance schedule as a collaborative pianist for over 20 years. She continues to perform with Carol Chuang-Mirim Kim Piano Duo and Dr. Evgeniy Sporov, violinist, throughout the Sacramento area including performances in Crocker Art Museum 2005, Music at Noon Concert Series at Westminster Church since 2002. Ms. Chuang began her piano study at the age of six in Taiwan, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the National Institute of the Arts (later renamed the Taipei National University of Arts). Two years after arriving in the U.S., Ms. Chuang earned a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where she was a full scholarship student of Professor Frank Weinstock. Ms. Chuang has been teaching piano lessons for over 15 years and her students had won many competitions and performed throughout the Sacramento valley including US Open Music Competition winner, CA PMT Honors Audition district and state winner, CAPMT Go for the Gold piano competition prizes, MTAC State Conventions, Northern California Piano & Ensemble Festival, MTAC Honors Recitals, etc. Currently, Ms. Chuang serves as President of Sierra Branch of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), District Chair of Bartok and Contemporary Festival of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT), members of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the Piano Ensemble Players.
