Kelly Bacon began studying music in elementary school, joining band and choir.
Continuing on to play flute in high school, she picked up bass guitar in her school’s jazz band.
This led to professional gigs in theater pit orchestras, jazz combos, and accompanying choirs in the Stockton area. With experience playing many genres of music, Kelly’s teaching philosophy is rooted in developing a love and appreciation for all genres. Since 2016, Kelly has seriously studied classical music. Kelly studied flute with Laurel Zucker and Dr. Cathie Apple at Sacramento State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance. On the Sacramento State campus, Kelly played principal flute in the University Orchestra and Wind
Ensemble. Outside of school, Kelly has enjoyed performances with the Azores Band of Escalon,
the Stockton Concert Band, the Lodi Community Band, and the Modesto Community Band. Kelly hopes to perform with a professional symphony orchestra and continue to grow her teaching career.
