Monica Serrano, BM
Mezzo-soprano Monica Serrano is a recent graduate from Sacramento State, where she received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Her roles include Dido from Yuba College’s production of Dido and Aeneas, Sacramento State Opera Theatre’s productions of Britten’s The Beggar’s Opera (Mrs. Trapes), Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto (Fidalma), Donizetti’s Il Campanello (Madama Rosa), and Third Knitter in Seymour Barab’s Game of Chance. She was the winner of the 2016 Lucy Becker Memorial Scholarship and a winner of the Robert S. Dinsmore Opera Scholarship, the only opera- based scholarship available to voice students at Sacramento State. She was most recently featured as the alto soloist in Händel’s Messiah with Capella Antiqua. Ms. Serrano plans on continuing her vocal studies in a Graduate program. She is a student of Dr. Robin Fisher.
