Raul Quines is a Filipino-American composer and singer-songwriter. His works have been performed by some of today’s lauded contemporary music ensembles and orchestras, such as the Locrian Chamber Players, Absolute Ensemble, Sweet Plantain, Attacca Quartet, Vivace Orchestra (of Stringendo) and the Manhattan Composers Orchestra. As a performer, conductor and collaborator, Mr. Quines has worked with Gene Pritsker, Aisha Sudiarso, David Cossin, Theo Bleckmann, Olivier Fluchaire, Michael Midlarsky, Isabela Quines and the NOW String Orchestra. Finding as much delight in multi-media setting, he’s worked with conductor Kristjan Järvi and painter Mark Kostabi at the Kostabi World, Paul Nugent with AboutFACE Ireland Theatre in Dublin, Ireland and with choreographer/dancer Jane Sato and hip-hop artist Stiles FOETTFU in NYC.

Mr. Quines received his musical training at the Manhattan School of Music, earning a BM in composition (while minoring in piano), and at CUNY Hunter College, where he studied composition and ethnomusicology and received his MA. He taught Composition, Music Theory and Ear-training at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division. He is a recipient of the American Music Center Award. His compositions are distributed by Building Moons & Arches Publishing. His singles – “Mesmerized” and “Black [& bLue]” are available on most streaming platforms; and an EP is in the works!

Recently relocating to Rocklin, California, Mr. Quines continues to work on his craft as a composer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist. He is the founder and director of N.O.W. MUSIC & ARTS, an online platform on which professional artists worldwide (from all disciplines) perform and exhibit their work. His works and services as music-maker and artist are available for “the community”.
