Harry Stoddard

Guitar

Harry Stoddard has been performing and teaching guitar since 2012. In 2008 he began studying 7-string classical guitar with Matthew Grasso, and in 2013 he participated in a masterclass with Paul Galbraith. Harry primarily teaches classical guitar but also has experience teaching beginning to early-intermediate acoustic styles. Lessons are a collaborative, creative effort between the teacher and student with the goal of developing a solid grasp of technique, note reading, theory, and interpretation. New skills and techniques are introduced progressively to ensure consistent improvement and give the student the tools they need to approach new music with confidence. He performs as a soloist in the Sacramento area and in Northern California. He is a former member of Trio Seven and can be heard on their debut CD, Invocation to the Extended Seven-String Guitar. His contributions to the 7-string solo and trio repertoire include transcriptions of Bach, Mozart, Mussorgsky, Ravel, Debussy, Lili Boulanger, and others.
